About
Thanks for stopping by! I'm glad you're here.
I often find it's a little difficult to describe myself in brief. The one word that does come to mind is curious. I have a passion for learning and exploring new ideas. I don't shy away from topics outside my expertise and thrive in environments that challenge me to grow. I love to work with people who are passionate about their craft and are always looking to improve.
I also love the outdoors. I'm a huge fan of hiking, trail running, and skiing. I've found that the outdoors is the best place to clear my mind and find more creative inspiration. I try to always bring my dog, Buzz (lightyear), on all my adventures, he's my best friend.
There is so much more to me than what I've shared here, but a few more things I'd like to share:
- I am passionate about reading
- I enjoy playing chess
- I love to take photos
- I grew up on a farm in Virginia (sheep, goats, ducks, chestnut trees, and more)
- I played tier 1 ice hockey growing up (as a goalie)
- Who knows...I'm sure I'll be adding more soon.
- Back to SchoolAfter much consideration, I decided to leave Esri to pursue a master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction and User Experience Design
- First MarathonCompleted my first marathon, the Marine Corps Marathon. I ran with my oldest sister and dad! The marathon itself was incredibly painful, but the experience was unforgettable. I'm training for a Fall 2025 marathon (not sure which one yet).
- Chess HobbyistStarted playing chess after long hiatus since elementary school. It's a beautiful game that I hope to continue playing/learning for the rest of my life.
- Full-time DeveloperAccepted and started a full-time position at Esri
- College GraduateGraduated from the University of Colorado Boulder
- High School GraduateGraduated from St. Anne's Belfield School (STAB) in Charlottesville, VA
- NOLS GraduateCompleted a month-long backpacking and whitewater rafting trip through the Grand Teton's and Salmon River in Idaho. I hear that makes me a 'NOLS-it-all' when it comes to the outdoors.
- Computer ScienceI was building a drone in photography class (independent study), about halfway through the year a new Computer Science teacher joined the school. My photography teacher introduced us and I took part in a 'test' run of a programming curriculum!
- BornBorn in Charlottesville, VA
Woah you actually made it this far?
I'm amazed you're here. I'll reward you a collection of photos of my dog, Buzz, and his best friend, River.
